We are sustainable landscape designers, gardeners, locavores, naturalists, and enthusiasts who want to see food forests all over Dane County and beyond.
Wisconsin Food Forests is a project of Madison Traffic Garden, a 501(c)(3) based in Madison, Wisconsin.
We have partnered with Emily Steinwehe, the founder/owner of Emily Plants.
Emily earned a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Biology from Valparaiso University in 2001. She has been an avid gardener since 2005. Emily started pursuing her business idea in 2011. Emily is a professional naturalist, and it is her life’s ambition to bring edible landscapes into people’s lives, yards, and schools.

We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Madelon Wise who helped us get WFF started. Madelon has gardened her entire adult life. She holds a Permaculture Design Certificate from the Midwest Permaculture Institute. She served as Wisconsin Food Forests’s writer and editor, helped with website building, social media, site visits, planting and so much more. Thank you Madelon!
